Community Picnic - August 27

2023-8-22 | Kelli Hodgson

How did you first come to ECC? Did someone invite you? Were you young, brought by your parents? Were you looking for a community where you could belong? I first came to worship at ECC because I was invited by my co-worker. I felt welcomed in by many and wanted to hear more about God’s grace, mercy, and love.

We hear many stories of how people first came to ECC because someone invited them. Personal invitation from someone who is a part of the community is meaningful and compelling.

In living out our Touchstone of Welcome, we seek to be a place of hospitality, grace, and community for all people. We’ve got a great opportunity to practice this touchstone coming up this Sunday, August 27, at our annual Community Picnic, after worship at noon on our campus. We’ll have a big tent set up, where you can enjoy a free, delicious lunch as you sit and talk with others from the ECC community. There will be our annual corn hole tournament, pony rides, an inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, as well as shaved ice from Gibson’s and a new fun game for almost all ages called Nine Square in the Air.

We are also adding a raffle this year! There will be three ways to enter:

1. Everyone that stops by the Welcome Table will get a free gift (while supplies last), as well as, one free entry into the raffle.

2. Take a self-guided tour of our newly refreshed Life Center to see how we plan to use this space for ECC Ministry. You will use a card to collect stamps at 5 locations in the Life Center, and you can turn the completed card in at the Welcome Table for a second raffle entry.

3. Invited guests can write their names on the back of their invitation postcard and bring it to the Welcome Table for a third raffle entry.

Raffle winners will be announced at 1:30pm.

If you are able to help serve we are looking for people to help set up, tear down, serve food, greet guests, and supervise the inflatables. We also need people to bring in their corn hole sets so that we’re ready for an epic tournament!

If you plan to play corn hole you can sign up below to let us know or you can sign up in person on Sunday!

Let’s be a people of Welcome this fall! Hope to see you at the picnic!
